Nigerian Ambassador Advocates Cultural Partnership with Qatar to Showcase Nigerian Heritage

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Qatar, Yakubu Ahmed, has called for a cultural collaboration between Nigeria and Qatar to promote Nigerian culture in Doha. During a courtesy visit to the Katara Cultural Foundation, Ahmed met with Prof. Khalid Al Sulaiti, General Manager and Chairman of the Kiahf Committee, on Sunday to discuss the idea. The ambassador highlighted Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, celebrated through its traditional festivals featuring vibrant carnivals, boat rides, dances, songs, horse riding, and masquerades.

Ahmed proposed inviting Nigerian artists and art galleries to exhibit their work at Doha’s Cultural Village, aiming to foster cultural exchange and highlight Nigeria’s artistic heritage. Prof. Al Sulaiti expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, encouraging the Nigerian Embassy to utilize the cultural village’s facilities for exhibitions that showcase Nigeria’s heritage. He pledged his support for future events organized by the embassy.
