Nigeria has expressed its condolences to the Government and People of Turkey following the tragic fire incident at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort, which resulted in the deaths of 76 people.
A statement released on Wednesday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, acting spokesperson for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conveyed the nation’s sympathy.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to express deep condolence to the Government and People of the Republic of Turkey over the unfortunate fire incident at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort,” the statement said.
The fire, which began in the early hours of Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Bolu Province, Northwestern Turkey, left 76 people dead and over 50 others injured.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria sympathises with the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the families of the victims of the fire incident, and also wishes a speedy recovery of the injured,” the statement added.
