The CEO of ZEE Africa, Somnath Malakar, has announced the launch of a new reality show, Dance Naija Dance, a program combining Nigerian and Indian cultural elements designed to celebrate and promote Nigeria on a global scale. Set to air on Zee World, Dance Naija Dance will run for 10 weeks, broadcasting on Saturdays and Sundays at 7 p.m., and offering cash prizes of up to N5 million to winning participants.

Malakar emphasized that the show is Zee Africa’s way of giving back to Nigeria, its largest market on the continent. He highlighted the Nigerian audience’s love for dance and Bollywood, adding that this unique cultural fusion aims to captivate viewers and expand the global reach of Nigerian talent.

“The show will connect Nigerian talent to a global Bollywood community of over a billion people, reinforcing Nigeria’s place in the entertainment landscape. We are excited to bring African talent to more than 60 countries through this platform,” Malakar said.

Hosted by Hero Daniels and Pelumi Buari, the show features renowned choreographers and mentors Sashin Kandhai and Kenneth Agabata, with Kunle Remi and Uraysha Ramrachia as judges. The top prize breakdown awards N2.5 million to the winning group, N1.5 million to the runner-up, and N1 million to the solo winner, along with product prizes from the show’s sponsors.
