An officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reportedly been kidnapped in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident occurred on Thursday evening around 8 p.m., shortly after the officer left the agency’s office located off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road.
Details of the Incident
According to sources familiar with the development, the officer was ambushed by heavily armed kidnappers while heading home at the close of work. The attackers reportedly overpowered the officer and his orderly, abducting them both.
One source revealed, “The officer was targeted as he was leaving the office. The assailants seemed to have prior knowledge of his routine, as they waited for him at a strategic point. The abduction was swift and calculated.”
Rising Wave of Abductions
The kidnapping adds to the growing wave of insecurity in the Ogwashi-Uku area, where at least five individuals have been abducted within the past 10 days. The incidents have left residents in fear, with many expressing concerns about their safety in the area.

When contacted, the NDLEA spokesperson for Delta State, John Kennedy, neither confirmed nor denied the kidnapping, stating he preferred not to comment on the issue. Similarly, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State, Bright Edafe, noted that the police were not yet aware of the incident as of the time of filing this report.
