The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has successfully destroyed a terrorists’ food depot and neutralised several insurgents during a precision airstrike on their enclave at Jubillaram in the Lake Chad Basin’s Tumbuns area.

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), revealed that the operation was conducted on November 23, following detailed intelligence efforts that identified the site as a critical logistical hub for terrorist commanders and fighters.

The targeted location served as a food storage site and a hideout for insurgents linked to recent attacks, including an assault on troops in Kareto on November 16. NAF fighter jets carried out robust air interdiction missions, destroying key structures and neutralising insurgents on-site.

“Mop-up operations using cannons ensured the elimination of fleeing hostile elements,” Akinboyewa stated. He credited the operation’s success to extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions over several days, which confirmed the presence of terrorist infrastructure hidden under dense vegetation.

The destruction of the depot and neutralisation of the fighters have severely disrupted the insurgents’ logistical capabilities, significantly diminishing their ability to launch future attacks.

Akinboyewa emphasized NAF’s commitment to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and supporting ground forces in counterterrorism efforts. “This mission underscores the NAF’s resolve to sustain independent and joint operations until all enemies of Nigeria’s prosperity are brought to justice,” he concluded.
