Lush Hair took a powerful stance for African beauty and inclusivity at this year’s Lagos Fashion Week, held on Victoria Island. The five-day event, themed “COMMUNE,” showcased the brand’s commitment to reshaping beauty standards across the continent, celebrating the diversity of African beauty and culture.

In a presentation that went beyond hair care, Lush Hair brought an inclusive lineup to the runway, featuring plus-size models, an amputee model, and individuals of various skin tones. This refreshing diversity embodied Lush Hair’s philosophy of embracing and celebrating Africa’s rich tapestry of beauty, inspiring attendees to appreciate African beauty in all its forms. Omoruyi Bello-Osagie, Lush Hair’s Brand Manager, explained, “We’re not merely creating products; we’re crafting confidence, empowering women of all backgrounds to embrace their authentic selves.”

Further emphasizing its commitment to African hair care, Lush Hair launched a new Hair Treatment line tailored specifically to the needs of African hair textures. This innovation is a stride forward in specialized hair care that acknowledges the unique qualities of African hair, enhancing both health and beauty.

Behind the scenes, Lush Hair’s styling team, led by Edith Okechukwu from the Lush Hair Professional School, worked on over 100 models, using signature products like Kinky Twist, Kinky Royale, and Roni Curls to enhance each model’s natural texture. Their work demonstrated how accessible, high-quality hair solutions can elevate fashion presentations while also catering to everyday consumers.

Marketing Manager Vivian Obiano highlighted Lush Hair’s broader mission, noting the brand’s investment in Africa’s fashion and creative industries. “When we support African designers and creatives, we’re investing in the future of our fashion industry,” she said. “More importantly, by showcasing diversity, we’re sending a powerful message that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and shades. This aligns perfectly with our mission to empower every woman through beauty and self-expression.”

Lush Hair’s presentation at Lagos Fashion Week underscored a progressive vision for African beauty, fostering a culture of inclusivity, self-confidence, and pride in authentic African identity.
