Lifeless Body Found Under Okefia Bridge in Osogbo

The lifeless body of an unidentified male adult was discovered on Friday under the Okefia Bridge in Osogbo, Osun State. The partially unclad corpse was found alongside a bag containing clothes, sparking curiosity and concern among residents.

Discovery of the Body

According to Timothy, a local trader in the area, the corpse was discovered around midday, prompting residents to alert security agencies. Personnel from the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were the first to respond, joined later by officials from the Osogbo West Local Government.

NSCDC Statement

Kehinde Adeleke, spokesperson for the NSCDC Osun Command, confirmed the incident in a statement.

“Today, December 27, the lifeless body of an elderly man was discovered under the Okefia Bridge in Osogbo,” Adeleke stated.

The NSCDC promptly reported the discovery to the Water and Environmental Sanitation Department of Osogbo West Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) and the Head of Local Government.

Evacuation Efforts

Local authorities coordinated to remove the body swiftly to prevent further decomposition. Adeleke explained that immediate steps were taken to ensure public health and safety, with the corpse being evacuated by the relevant authorities.
