The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya has deported 13 individuals—seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians—detained at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre. The deportees were flown out via Benina International Airport in Benghazi due to legal violations in Libya.

Migrant Rescue Watch confirmed the deportations on their official channel, stating, “DCIM deported 13 migrants (3 Bangladeshis, 3 Ghanaians, and 7 Nigerians) from the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre via Benina International Airport in Benghazi. All individuals were deported for violating laws in force in the Libyan state.”

This development reflects Libya’s intensified efforts to manage migration challenges, often in coordination with international bodies. It also highlights ongoing concerns over the conditions in Libyan detention centers, which have been criticized internationally for overcrowding and inadequate facilities.
