Real Estate Agent Esther Osaze Found Dead After Abduction in Delta State

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two suspected gun runners, Zubairu Musa, 40, and Nasiru Saidu, 17, both natives of Kankara Local Government Area in Katsina State. The suspects were apprehended during a routine vehicular patrol along the Zaria-Jos Road by officers from the 47 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Zaria.

According to the state’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mansir Hassan, the arrests took place on December 5, 2024, following credible intelligence about the movement of illegal arms in the state. The officers intercepted the suspects and found them in possession of eight locally made pump-action guns, one locally made pistol, and sixty-five live cartridges.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were actively involved in the illegal trafficking of firearms. They are reportedly cooperating with the authorities to identify their accomplices and uncover the broader network of gun-running operations within the state.

In a statement on Friday, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Abdullahi, praised the officers for their swift action and reassured the public of the Command’s dedication to maintaining law and order.

“The suspects were intercepted during a routine vehicular patrol based on credible intelligence. Their apprehension is a significant step toward dismantling illegal firearm networks in the region,” the statement read.

The Commissioner also urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police to enhance public safety.
