Itel Power 70: A Budget Smartphone with Massive Battery Life

Itel Power 70: A Budget Smartphone with Massive Battery Life frontpage news

Itel has introduced the Power 70, an affordable smartphone that prioritizes battery life above all else. With a 6,000 mAh battery as its core feature, the device already offers impressive longevity. However, as a launch gift, Itel is also bundling a 4,000 mAh charging case, effectively pushing the total battery capacity to 10,000 mAh. While the case doesn’t support wireless charging, it connects via the phone’s Type-C port, utilizing 18W wired charging to keep the device powered up for extended periods.

All of this comes at an astonishingly low price of under $85, making it one of the most budget-friendly smartphones with such a high battery capacity.

Display and Build Quality

Despite the large battery, the Itel Power 70 remains relatively compact, measuring 165.92 x 77.31 x 7.98 mm and weighing 200 grams. The front features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 700 nits of peak brightness. Itel calls it a “Sunlight Display,” claiming it offers good visibility even in direct sunlight. Additionally, the display is designed to support wet and oily touch control, making it more functional in everyday use.

Performance and Storage Options

Under the hood, the Itel Power 70 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G50 Ultimate chipset, a decent entry-level processor for budget devices. It is available in multiple RAM and storage configurations:

  • 4GB/128GB
  • 6GB/128GB
  • 8GB/128GB
  • 4GB/256GB
  • 8GB/256GB

Unfortunately, the phone uses eMMC 5.1 storage, which is slower than UFS storage options found in more premium devices. However, users do get the option to expand storage further via microSD card support.

Cameras and Multimedia Features

For photography, the Power 70 comes with a single 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies. Video recording is limited to 1080p resolution, which is expected at this price point.

Other features include:

  • Dual Nano-SIM support
  • Side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security
  • Single loudspeaker
  • 3.5mm headphone jack

Unfortunately, the Power 70 does not support NFC, which may be a drawback for users who rely on contactless payments.

Price and Availability

The Itel Power 70, along with its 4,000 mAh charging case, is priced at around $85. While it remains unclear whether the charging case will be included in all future purchases or just as a launch promotion, this deal makes it one of the most affordable high-battery smartphones available.

Buyers can choose from black, silver, marine, and gold color options.

Final Thoughts

The Itel Power 70 offers incredible battery life, a 120Hz display, and decent performance for a budget-friendly price. While it lacks premium features like NFC or fast storage, it compensates with affordability and endurance, making it a great option for users who prioritize long-lasting battery life over high-end specs.
