The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced its plans to officially present certificates of return to Ondo State Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy on Wednesday.
According to INEC, the ceremony will be held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, marking the formal confirmation of Aiyedatiwa’s electoral victory.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, confirmed the development to FRONTPAGE on Monday, stating, “The certificates of return will be presented by the commission to the governor-elect and his deputy on Wednesday.”
Victory in the Governorship Election
INEC declared Aiyedatiwa the winner of the governorship election after he secured 366,781 votes. His closest contender, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), received 117,845 votes, falling significantly behind.
This presentation of certificates is a critical step in solidifying Aiyedatiwa’s mandate as governor and transitioning into the next phase of leadership for Ondo State.
