In 2022, Hisbah destroys twenty-five beer trucks.

The Kano State Hisbah Board report states that during patrol from January to December 2022, at least 2,260 people were taken into custody for a variety of offenses.

This came right after the Command said that 25 beer trailers with thousands of bottles each were burned in 2022 and that more bottles of various beers will be eliminated before January 2023.

This was revealed by Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina, the State’s Commander General, during a speech on Thursday in Kano.

He claims that the majority of people detained for illegal activity were turned over to security services so they could take the appropriate action, and minors were reunited with their families.

The state government founded the Hisbah board, an organization tasked with keeping the state free from immoral acts and apprehending anyone found drinking, selling, or purchasing alcoholic beverages within the state.

In the year under review, 386 beggars were repatriated to home States and 1,269 beggars were evacuated within a month as part of attempts to reduce street begging inside the metropolitan local government regions.

He continued by saying that the Kano State Hisbah board had been successful in spreading 86 immoral events, including drug parties, same-sex marriages, and other similar offenses, throughout the State in an effort to reduce societal vices.

However, according to Dr. Sani Ibn Sina, 822 disagreements were settled amicably, and because of their complexity, some are still pending in different courts.

“During Da’awah in 2022, fifteen couples were married at Hisbah, and twenty-two individuals converted to Islam.”

Speaking on bolstering Hisbah activities, Sheikh Ibn Sina stated that the Kano State Government had hired 3,100 Hisbah corps and 5,700 Hisbah Marshall in addition to constructing new facilities and renovating existing ones for the Hisbah headquarters and local government offices.

At the NYSC camp in the Kusalla Karaye local government region, more than a thousand Hisbah corps received training.

“To further motivate the agency’s staff, the state government had also given them new uniforms and other working materials,” he revealed.

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, authorized the conversion of Hisbah Mosque into a Juma’at Mosque, according to the Commander General, who also announced the establishment of a new Shari’a court at Hisbah headquarters in Sharada, Kano.
