The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State has completed the training of 55 personnel from nine private security companies, aimed at elevating professionalism and ethical standards within the private security sector. Participating companies included A. Kolo Security Guard LTD, Ampu Security Guard LTD, Silver Guard Security LTD, Jewel Security Guard LTD, Hardawa Security Guard Ltd, Pana Global Security LTD, Arksego Security LTD, Kombat Security LTD, and Kings Guard Security LTD.

The training, organized by the NSCDC’s Department of Private Guards Companies, emphasized the significance of discipline, professionalism, and respect for human rights. State Commandant Gyama Gyawiya urged the trainees to uphold these values, noting, “Your actions reflect not only on yourselves but also on the entire private security industry.”

Gyawiya highlighted the NSCDC’s mandate under the 2003 and 2007 NSCDC Act to license, monitor, and supervise private guard companies across Nigeria, ensuring that security personnel meet rigorous standards. He congratulated the trainees on their roles as ambassadors of the industry, advising them to embody “excellence, loyalty, and commitment.”

This initiative forms part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to standardize private security services, building on previous actions, including the licensing of 30 private guard companies to strengthen the collaboration in combating criminal activities.
