Ebere Nzeworji, an aide to former Imo State Governor and Senator Rochas Okorocha, has dispelled rumors circulating on social media claiming that Okorocha had passed away in a London hospital. In a statement from Abuja on Thursday, Nzeworji clarified that the former senator, who represented Imo West, is “hale and hearty.”

Nzeworji explained that the rumors began to spread on Wednesday evening, November 6, and were entirely false. He confirmed that Okorocha was at his Unity House office in Garki, Abuja, around the time the rumors surfaced and had recently returned from a visit to Owerri, Imo State. Highlighting Okorocha’s recent public engagements, Nzeworji noted that he attended the funeral of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on November 1 and hosted Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and other representatives at his Owerri residence shortly afterward.

Expressing concern over the motives behind the false report, Nzeworji emphasized Okorocha’s reputation as a patriotic leader known for his positive relationships and goodwill. “Senator Okorocha is a patriotic Nigerian who has served at both state and national levels with distinction,” Nzeworji stated, adding that Okorocha is well-regarded across Nigeria and beyond.

The aide urged the public and international community to disregard the fake news, assuring everyone that Okorocha remains in good health.
