In celebration of Human Rights Day, FlexiSAF Foundation hosted the third annual “Walk for Education,” an event that reinforced its mission to secure every child’s right to quality education. Under this year’s theme, “2030 on the Horizon: Naija’s Journey to Achieving SDG 4,” the event highlighted the urgent need to address Nigeria’s education crisis, particularly the staggering rate of out-of-school children. The Foundation called on the government and stakeholders to increase investment, accountability, and coordination in education to meet the ambitious SDG 4 goals by 2030.
FlexiSAF Foundation Executive Director, Mrs. Amina Abubakar, explained that the walk aimed to raise public awareness and inspire action towards inclusive education for all, regardless of background. Recognizing the strong support from partners like the National Commission for Refugees and CALDEV, the event successfully amplified the Foundation’s advocacy efforts.
During the post-walk ceremony, FlexiSAF unveiled the 2023 Young Advocate of the Year, awarding Yahaya Abubakar for his dedication to educational advocacy with a cash prize, plaque, and certificate. The event also honored the achievements of the runner-ups, celebrating all participants with certificates of recognition.
FlexiSAF Foundation extended heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, participants, and partners for their support in making Walk for Education 3.0 a powerful call to action for Nigeria’s educational future.
