A team of students from Federal Government College (FGC), Kaduna, will represent Nigeria at the 2025 International Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Clubs Competition in the United States.

The school earned its place in the prestigious contest after finishing as second runners-up at the National Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition in Abuja.

Principal Confident in Team’s Potential

Ahead of their departure, FGC Kaduna Principal, Mr. Adewale Adeyanju, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform exceptionally on the global stage.

“I felt immense joy when I learned about our remarkable achievement at the national level,” Adeyanju said. “However, I have challenged the team to aim even higher in California. It would be my greatest joy if they bring home the first-place trophy.”

He further stated that their coach assured him that preparations were going smoothly and the team remained highly motivated.

School’s Commitment to Tech Education

Adeyanju emphasized the school’s dedication to nurturing young tech talents by integrating robotics and artificial intelligence into the curriculum from junior secondary school.

“We are committed to developing the next generation of tech innovators,” he said. “Our goal is to train students early, instill discipline, and equip them to make a meaningful impact on society.”

He described the team’s historic achievement as unprecedented since the school’s founding in 1973.

Their coach, Muhammad Magaji, will lead the delegation.
