After a thrilling edition in Lagos, the 14th annual Eniobanke Music Festival (EmuFest) is set to bring its captivating blend of root and traditional music to Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday. The festival, a celebration of African music and culture, will feature performances from legendary musicians, including Jimi Solanke, Latoya Aduke, wife of the late music icon Orlando Julius Ekemode, and the Osun Ifokanbale Band.
The event will take place at the Eniobanke Hub in Ibadan, under the guidance of the festival’s convener, the dynamic poet and musician Segun Akinlolu, popularly known as Beautiful Nubia. He described EmuFest as a unique celebration of culture and entertainment, where audiences can immerse themselves in soulful, affectionate music.
Recording artist Latoya Aduke, who performed alongside her late husband Orlando Julius in previous editions, expressed her excitement about returning to the stage. She emphasized the significance of continuing her passion for music, inspired by Orlando’s support throughout their life together. Aduke shared her joy at performing once again for the festival, saying, “I trust Orlando’s love will be with me and Osun Ifokobanle Band. Ibadan is where the action is.”
EmuFest has become a beloved cultural event, bringing together seasoned performers like Pa Chris Ajilo, Pa Jimi Solanke, and the late Orlando Julius to create unforgettable musical experiences for lovers of traditional African music.
