Edo Governor Dissolves Local Government Service Commission for Enhanced Efficiency

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate dissolution of the Local Government Service Commission as part of ongoing reforms to boost transparency and efficiency in the public service.

In a statement released Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor said the move aligns with efforts to streamline government operations and improve the performance of public institutions across the state.

Governor Okpebholo assured citizens that the dissolution would not interfere with ongoing activities and pledged to work with stakeholders to restructure the commission for optimal service delivery.

“The decision to dissolve the Local Government Service Commission was made to revitalise the institution and establish a more efficient and accountable service structure,” he said.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparent governance, emphasizing that the reforms are aimed at delivering the benefits of democracy to the people of Edo State.
