Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, a former presidential aide and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has donated a 200-seat, fully equipped e-library to the School of Languages at Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) in Ondo City. The library aims to elevate educational standards and foster a culture of reading at her alma mater.
During the commissioning on December 14, 2023, the Minister of Education, represented by AFUED’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics, Prof. Taiwo Amos, praised Osamaye’s generosity and encouraged others to follow her example. Prof. Adeyemi Idowu, former provost of AFUED, hailed the library as a pioneering initiative and called for its maintenance, highlighting its broader impact on the Ondo community.
In her address, Dr. Osamaye expressed concern over declining reading habits and described the library as more than a facility, but a symbol of her commitment to education. She emphasized the library’s role in inspiring students, “the torchbearers of our community’s future,” and reigniting an appreciation for reading in a world filled with distractions.
