The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Precious, in connection with the kidnapping and gruesome killing of a 10-year-old girl in the Orhoakpo Ethiope East area of Delta State. The incident, which occurred on January 9, 2025, has sparked outrage and highlighted the need for increased community vigilance.
Confession and Details of the Crime
In a video posted on X.com by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, Precious confessed to luring the girl to two unidentified men who allegedly macheted her to death. According to Precious, the men promised him ₦200,000 for his role in the crime.
Edafe revealed that Precious initially approached his girlfriend, who is the sister of the deceased triplets, requesting one of her siblings. She declined but did not report the incident to her family, the community, or the police.
Edafe explained:
“The boy approached her and asked if she could give him one of her siblings for something. She declined but failed to raise the alarm or report it. Later that same day, one of the triplets went missing.”
When the family began searching for the missing child, the girlfriend disclosed Precious’ earlier request, leading to his arrest by the community.
Precious’ Confession
In his confession, Precious admitted to taking the girl to the two men, witnessing her murder, and seeing her buried in the community. He further alleged that the girlfriend agreed to his request the second time he approached her.
Precious stated:
“I told her I needed her younger sister, but she refused. When I went back to meet her, she agreed. I sent someone to call the little girl. When she came to meet me, I took her to the two men. They killed her in my presence and buried her.”

The Delta State Police Command is still searching for the burial site of the deceased and working to identify and apprehend the two men involved.
