Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left Nigeria just days after being released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The cross-dresser shared a series of videos on his Instagram story on Monday morning, showing him flying first-class without disclosing his final destination.
“See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,” Bobrisky boasted to his followers. He also humorously remarked on his passport photo, joking, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
Bobrisky’s departure follows several controversial events. On Thursday night, he was removed from a KLM flight bound for Amsterdam at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to travel to London. According to Bobrisky, he sustained minor injuries during the incident, which he shared with his followers online. Following this, he was taken to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was reportedly questioned over allegations of bribing officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges against him. Bobrisky denied the allegations in his statement and was released on bail on Saturday.
The cross-dresser’s legal troubles trace back to April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison for currency abuse. Although initially sent to Kirikiri Prison, reports indicated he spent only three weeks there before being discreetly transferred to a private location. The situation took another turn in September when social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio recording allegedly capturing Bobrisky discussing bribery with EFCC officials to dismiss his case.
Bobrisky’s legal journey and his recent departure have sparked significant media attention, with mixed reactions from the public as he faces unresolved allegations and increasing scrutiny.
