Arrest and Allegations

Muhammad Idrissa, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), has been arrested by the Borno State Police Command for allegedly supplying cooking ingredients to Boko Haram insurgents in the state. The arrest followed intelligence reports on his activities, which led to his detainment. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that Idrissa would soon face prosecution in court.

Confession of Involvement

During an interview with a correspondent, Idrissa admitted to his involvement, explaining that he had been supplying basic cooking items such as Maggi, cooking oil, salt, and pepper to Boko Haram members. He claimed that his actions were motivated by a desire to assist his younger brother, who is allegedly a member of the terrorist group.

Idrissa clarified that he had only made five deliveries to the insurgents, asserting that his intent was to help his brother and the group by providing items they could not access. He acknowledged his previous membership in the Civilian Joint Task Force, which is a group established to assist the Nigerian military in combating terrorism.

Details of the Arrest

Regarding the arrest, Idrissa said he was at home when the police contacted him and asked him to come to the station. Upon arrival, he was arrested. His role in the supply chain and his connection to the insurgents have now placed him under investigation, with legal proceedings expected to follow.
