About the BAFTA Awards

The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) is one of the most prestigious film awards globally, celebrating excellence in British and international cinema. Established in 1947, the ceremony is hosted annually by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and serves as a major indicator of success for films ahead of the Oscars.

While BAFTA honors global cinema, it also maintains a strong focus on British films, with dedicated categories like Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer.

Winners are chosen through a voting process involving BAFTA members, who are professionals across different branches of the film industry, ensuring credibility and industry representation.

The 2025 edition of the BAFTAs once again highlighted the best of filmmaking talent, showcasing outstanding performances, visionary storytelling, and groundbreaking cinematic achievements.
