Speaking at today’s (Thursday, December 29, 2022) Young Ministers Retreat (YMR) at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Redemption Camp, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, is Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the immediate former governor of Ondo state.

The former governor of Ondo will be speaking on governance, and Pastor Daniel Olawande, the convener of YMR, says that the goal of his presentation is to “raise, inspire and, equip next generation of believers in the political space.”

Mimiko, who served as the governor of Ondo State from 2009 to 2017, will speak to the Young Ministers on his journey from a doctor to a politician.

“The former governor will attempt to correct some assumptions and generalizations about all politicians, with the aid of practical examples and scriptural citations,” stated John Paul Akinduro, Mimiko’s Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications.

“He will also discuss the impact of politics and governance on the lives of individuals and the country as a whole with the ministers.”

It is documented that during his tenure as the Chief Executive of Ondo State, Mimiko ran an inclusive urban renewal program and a government that supported the underprivileged and the people, earning him a spot on the United Nations Habitat’s roll call of honors.

During his eight years in office, Akinduro noted, Mimiko also organized a monthly Divine Agenda appreciate Night to remind people of their obvious obligations to God and humanity and to constantly appreciate God for his generosity.

Akinduro claimed that the Mimiko-led administration’s success was largely due to the participation of young leaders from various religious backgrounds in the creation and implementation of policies as well as the appropriate citation of God in all endeavors.

The former governor has been obliged to give speeches on politics and governance at numerous events across the nation and abroad since leaving office.
