After more than 15 years of inactivity, Air Sierra Leone has started operating regularly between Lagos and Freetown.
In collaboration with XEJet, a Nigerian airline, Air Sierra Leone made a comeback to Nigeria.
In addition to offering the airline technical help, XEjet also makes three operating aircraft available for the company’s return to the nation.
Edgard Lacle, the general manager of Air Sierra Leone, told reporters on the sidelines of the carrier’s first flight ceremony on Wednesday at the Lagos airport that he was happy to see the airline back in the nation.
The airline has obtained authorization to operate in the nation three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Lacle informed reporters. stating that when more passengers arrive, the itinerary would be expanded.
The airline CEO reported that 36 passengers were transported into the nation by its aircraft on the first journey to Lagos.
“Serra Leone and Nigeria have a strong relationship, particularly in terms of trade, and we have a market that everyone is attempting to participate in,” he stated.
“Trade, tourism, and the link between Sierra Leone and Nigeria are all very important.”
They supply airplanes as part of the technical partnership. The market and passenger flow are appropriate for the airplane. We will make adjustments as soon as we observe changes in the market.
Speaking as well, Iza Emmanuel, the CEO of XEJET, characterizes the occasion as a revival of the Air Sierra Leo in Nigeria.
