In a significant step toward strengthening regional connectivity, AFRIJET has officially launched its first-ever direct flight between Libreville, Gabon, and Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The move, which marks a major milestone in the airline’s expansion strategy, provides a key link between two vital oil and gas hubs in Central and West Africa.

Reducing Travel Time and Strengthening Regional Ties
According to AFRIJET General Director, Nyl Moret-Mba, the new route significantly reduces travel time, making Port Harcourt just 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Libreville. Moret-Mba emphasized that the initiative aims to facilitate trade, ease the movement of oil and gas sector personnel, and foster cultural exchange between Central and West Africa.
“This new route dramatically reduces travel time, making Port Harcourt just 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Libreville. It also provides direct connections to other key cities in Central and West Africa, including Douala, Pointe-Noire, Port-Gentil, Malabo, and Johannesburg,” the statement read.
Doubling Frequency by April 2025
AFRIJET also announced plans to expand the Libreville–Port Harcourt route by April 2025, doubling its frequency to four weekly flights in each direction. This expansion will provide more options for travelers, boosting business and tourism between Nigeria and Gabon.
