NABTEB 2025 NBC/NTC Results: 68% Pass Rate, Maths Scores Surge, Enrolment Hits 92,000

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2025 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, with over two-thirds of candidates securing credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.

The Registrar/Chief Executive of NABTEB, Prof. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, announced the release of the results on Thursday in Benin City, Edo State.

Surge in Enrolment

A total of 92,875 candidates registered for the examinations across 1,892 centres nationwide, representing a 37.08% increase compared to the 67,751 candidates in 2024. The number of centres also rose by 10.77% from 1,708 in the previous year.

Of the 89,621 candidates whose results were released, 57,651 were males (62.07%) and 35,224 were females (37.93%).

Performance Breakdown

* 61,104 candidates (68.18%) obtained five credits and above including English and Mathematics.
* 74,633 candidates (83.28%) scored five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics.
* In Mathematics, 81,172 out of 85,805 candidates passed, translating to a 94.60% success rate.
* In English Language, 79,575 out of 85,476 candidates passed, recording a 93.10% success rate.

These figures represent an improvement from the 65.34% pass rate recorded in 2024.

Malpractice Cases

The board confirmed that 435 candidates were involved in 516 cases of examination malpractice. This marks a slight drop compared to 524 cases involving 349 candidates in 2024.

Subjects and Trades

Candidates sat for a wide range of subjects covering:

* 16 Engineering Trades
* 7 Construction Trades
* 9 Miscellaneous Trades
* 4 Business Trades
* 16 General Education subjects

Looking Ahead

Prof. Mohammed encouraged candidates to check their results via the NABTEB portal and announced that registration has commenced for the November/December 2025 NBC/NTC and Advanced NBC/NTC (ANBC/ANTC) examinations.

He stressed that the board remains committed to upholding the integrity of its examinations and supporting Nigeria’s drive for stronger technical and vocational education.
