Mohbad: Court Rejects Father’s Hospital Request as Wunmi Reaffirms DNA Readiness

The ongoing paternity dispute involving Liam, the son of the late singer Mohbad, has resurfaced following a new statement from the child’s mother, Wunmi, who addressed claims that she has been avoiding the DNA test demanded by Mohbad’s father.

Her response comes shortly after Mohbad’s father disclosed that the DNA court proceedings had been reopened and reiterated that his son would not be laid to rest until the test was concluded.

Mohbad’s Father Maintains Doubts Over Liam’s Paternity

The grieving father has consistently questioned whether Liam is truly his grandson, pushing the court to mandate a DNA test.

His insistence — and the public debate surrounding it — has fueled rumours that Wunmi is unwilling to submit the child for testing.

But in a new statement shared through her legal team and posted on her Instagram page, Wunmi argued that it is Mohbad’s father — not her — who has contributed to the delays.

Court Rejects Exclusive Hospital Request

According to Wunmi, the matter returned to court yesterday. At the hearing, Mohbad’s father reportedly sought an order requiring that the DNA test be conducted solely at two hospitals of his choosing.

The court, however, threw out the request.

Wunmi revealed that the judge ruled that the DNA test must take place in two neutral, independent medical facilities— institutions where neither she nor Mohbad’s father has any personal ties or influence.

She explained that this insistence on neutrality is one of the reasons the process has taken longer than expected.

Wunmi Reaffirms Her Willingness to Proceed

Wunmi maintained that she is fully prepared to move forward with the DNA procedure as soon as both parties agree on independent hospitals that meet the court’s requirements.

She emphasised that she has no reason to obstruct the test and is committed to following the legal directives.
