Saturday, April 16, 2022, fans of the Kano Pillars forced the Northwest derby against Katsina United to be called off when they invaded the field at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.
Social media users saw images of the Katsina United bus being vandalized by the enraged Kano Pillars, a development that has been sharply criticized by supporters, stakeholders, and enthusiasts of the beautiful game of football.
The league management group swiftly responded by slamming Kano Pillars with punishment for the unsightly episode.
Kano Pillars was hit with a 9 million naira punishment by the LMC for violating NPFL Rules.
Club is banished to MKO stadium Abuja
- Three points are subtracted from the total number of points.
-Prohibits the Kano Sanni Abacha Stadium from holding NPFL games going forward.
Kano Pillars will replace or repair the Katsina United FC team bus that is destroyed.
- The unsatisfactory game will be continued or replayed in Abuja.
Remember that Kano Pillars are not strangers to hooliganism; in fact, we were complicit in the game’s abandonment owing to crowd disturbances against eventual NPFL Champions Akwa United Fc.
