Popular Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has addressed the controversy surrounding his absence at a scheduled concert in Paris, revealing that a dispute between his tour agent and the event promoter was to blame for the missed performance.
The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media early Tuesday, as fans in France expressed frustration after waiting hours for the artist, who never appeared on stage.
In a detailed statement shared via his Instagram page, the “Woju” hitmaker clarified that he had been fully prepared to travel but was delayed due to an ongoing payment disagreement between his tour agent, @olamidebaron, and the promoter handling the Paris event.
“First, this wasn’t my fault,” Kizz Daniel wrote. “Whatever clips you’re seeing are from a dispute between my tour agent @olamidebaron and the show promoter. I was paid in full by my agent to perform in Paris, but he resold the show to another promoter who allegedly breached the contract by not paying the balance.”
According to the singer, he had been ready to board a 12:25 p.m. flight on the day of the event, with his colleague Adesope Shopsydoo present at the hotel. However, his agent insisted on delaying their departure until the payment issue was resolved.
“We were delayed from flying by @olamidebaron so he could secure his payment, which I wasn’t aware of until later. The issue was eventually resolved, but by then we had missed our flight,” he added. “The next available one was scheduled for 5:25 p.m.”
