Jumia Launches Late-Night Food Delivery Service to Meet Growing Demand

In response to rising customer demand, Jumia’s marketplace for restaurants has introduced a late-night food delivery service, allowing customers to place orders until midnight. Managing Director Guy Futi announced the launch in Lagos, highlighting the service’s aim to cater to customers who order food at night.

The new late-night offering complements other initiatives like increased accessibility, expanded payment options, and special deals, contributing to a 120% increase in order volume for Jumia. Futi emphasized that their delivery system allows riders nearest to the restaurant to pick up orders, ensuring delivery within 40 minutes, with real-time tracking available for customers.

Chioma Odimegwu, Head of Marketing and Vendor Success, confirmed that in 2019, Jumia will focus on operational efficiency, introducing more restaurants with extended hours, expanding corporate catering services, and forming new partnerships to enhance customer value.
