On Monday, the National Youth Service Corps declared that it would continue to strictly enforce the COVID-19 safety precautions.
This is happening as reports of cases of the novel COVID-19 mutant Omicron have surfaced.
In his worldwide virtual speech to the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials, NYSC Director-General Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim revealed this, according to a statement released on Monday by NYSC Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Emeka Mgbemena.
“All incoming PCMs will show evidence of vaccination before they would be allowed into the camp for registration,” he declared, referring to the upcoming orientation exercise in 2022.
Ibrahim gave advice to the corps members who will finish their orientation course this Tuesday (today) on how to develop the abilities necessary to become entrepreneurs.
According to him, the NYSC has worked with a number of organizations, including the Heritage Bank, Access Bank, Bank of Industry, NYSC Foundation, and the Central Bank of Nigeria, to offer soft loans to corps members who have strong business ideas.
Ibrahim cautioned them against setting out on unauthorized or nighttime travels.
