The musical legacy of Wizkid appears to be in safe hands as his first son, Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz, makes a powerful entrance into the Nigerian music scene with his debut extended play (EP) titled Champion’s Arrival.
The five-track project dropped to an overwhelming response, shooting to the top of Apple Music Nigeria’s charts in less than five hours after release — a feat that makes the 14-year-old the youngest African artist to achieve such success.
According to chart data, Champion’s Arrival has also appeared in music charts across 16 countries, peaking at No. 71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums chart.
The EP showcases Champz’s youthful creativity and lyrical maturity, with no guest features.
Each track spotlights his own voice and perspective — particularly the standout song Superstar, where he reflects on young heartbreak, personal growth, and his dreams for the future.
Responding to critics who called him a “nepo baby,” Champz emphasized that every lyric came from his own pen.
The young artist announced his project on social media, encouraging fans to stream it on all platforms.
His proud father, Wizkid, shared his excitement online, writing: “We love it, man. He’s my kid, you know!”

Boluwatife, born to Wizkid and Shola Ogudu, has long displayed entrepreneurial flair. At just seven years old, he launched his own children’s fashion line, Czar & Czarina, before turning his focus fully toward music.
With Champion’s Arrival, Champz has set the stage for what many predict will be a remarkable career in the footsteps of his superstar father.
