The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) receives the 2021 Human Rights Excellence Award

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) received the 2021 Human Rights Excellence Award, recognizing its exceptional contributions to promoting human rights in Nigeria. This prestigious award was presented by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) during the annual commemoration of International Human Rights Day.

The NHRC awards acknowledge outstanding institutions and individuals in three categories: federal government ministries, departments, and agencies; governors; and civil society organizations. According to Dr. Salamatu Hussaini Sulaiman, Chairperson of the NHRC, the awards aim to encourage continued excellence in human rights advancement.

Dr. Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director/CEO of NPHCDA, expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated the agency’s commitment to improving Nigerians’ health and quality of life. He emphasized that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right and highlighted NPHCDA’s efforts to enhance healthcare access through its nine mandates.
