Dr. Gloria Moses, a general medical practitioner, has reassured that using birth control pills before having children does not affect a woman’s future fertility. Speaking in an interview on Sunday in Abuja, she clarified that the pills are designed to prevent pregnancy while in use and have no long-term impact on a woman’s ability to conceive.
She emphasized that there’s no proof to suggest that these contraceptives cause harm to users or their future children, stating, “Once you stop taking the pills, your body returns to normal, and you can get pregnant as usual.”
Dr. Moses further explained that birth control pills temporarily stop ovulation to prevent pregnancy, but once discontinued, they do not affect the ability to conceive. She also assured that they do not lead to pregnancy complications or birth defects in the baby.
