Guinness World Records has officially confirmed Hilda Baci’s latest achievement — the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In a statement posted on its official X account, Guinness announced that Baci, in partnership with Gino Nigeria, successfully cooked 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz) of jollof rice in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The record attempt, which took place during the World Jollof Festival, drew thousands of spectators, celebrities, and food enthusiasts. A custom pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres was fabricated for the feat, and more than 200 bags of rice were used during the nine-hour cooking marathon.
According to organisers, the event was structured to ensure that the food was distributed to attendees, preventing wastage.
