‘God Don’t Let Me Die Young’ – Portable’s Emotional Plea Raises Concern

Popular Nigerian street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has triggered widespread reactions online after posting a deeply emotional message amid his ongoing legal troubles.

The controversial artiste took to his Instagram story to offer a heartfelt prayer, pleading with God to spare his life. In the emotional post, Portable expressed fear of dying young and begged that his wife and children should not be left behind to endure hardship.

“God save me. Please don’t let me die young because of my wife and my kids. God, don’t let them suffer,” the singer wrote.

The post surfaced shortly after Portable was reportedly taken into police custody following a complaint lodged by his baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple. The arrest comes after weeks of heated exchanges between the two, during which they publicly accused each other of various offenses across social media platforms.

A video circulating online captured the dramatic moment officers attempted to arrest the singer. In the footage, Portable appeared visibly distressed, shouting and resisting as onlookers tried to calm him down.

This development follows an earlier incident in which Portable narrowly avoided arrest after a confrontation with Ashabi Simple. That encounter allegedly occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the singer’s bar located in Ogun State.

Another video from that day showed a tense exchange between the pair. Ashabi, who is often referred to publicly as one of Portable’s baby mamas, was seen angrily rejecting the label and insisting that she should be recognized as his wife instead.
