FRSC to Prosecute TikTok Star Peller After Live-Streaming Road Crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced plans to take legal action against popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, following a road accident reportedly connected to him live-streaming while driving.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the incident as a worrying example of a growing trend among celebrities and social media influencers who take unnecessary risks on public roads to entertain their followers.

“Any form of live streaming, content creation, or activity that distracts a driver is a serious violation of traffic laws and puts everyone on the road at risk,” Mohammed said. He emphasized that no individual, regardless of fame or influence, is above the law.

Following the incident, Mohammed directed the Lagos State FRSC command to commence prosecution against Peller for reckless and distracted driving. The Corps Marshal also warned that such behavior threatens national road safety campaigns and could result in avoidable fatalities.

Highlighting the responsibility of public figures, Mohammed called on entertainment and influencer organizations to actively encourage safe driving practices among their members, noting the significant influence they wield over young Nigerians.

“Roads are shared public spaces regulated by law, not stages for online content creation,” Mohammed added, vowing strict enforcement against anyone who compromises public safety.
