Fraud Victims Urged by EFCC to Report as Crypto Bridge Exchange Trial Deepens

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formally invited individuals defrauded by the controversial cryptocurrency trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to come forward and assist with its ongoing investigation.

Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, disclosed this in a statement from the commission’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate.

Oyewale said, “The EFCC is currently prosecuting three suspects namely, Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka over their alleged involvement in the scam.”

According to the EFCC, CBEX lured citizens into investing with the promise of impossible returns, leaving many devastated by losses when the platform collapsed.

The commission has therefore urged victims who made investments through CBEX agents in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, to visit its offices in those locations.

Frontpagenews.ng reports that this latest development is part of EFCC’s intensified drive to involve victims in ongoing financial crime investigations, thereby strengthening its evidence base in court.
