A former Lagos State governorship candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has urged Nigerians to arm themselves to defend against terrorists, according to a post he made on 𝕏.
In the post, Gbadamosi wrote that Nigerians should stop using age, gender or religion as excuses and must “resist ANY attempt to disarm you,” adding that anyone who tries to disarm citizens “wants you to be murdered.” He listed a range of weapons and equipment, writing in full:
“Dear Nigerians, Arm Yourselves. Buy Crossbows. Buy AK-47 rifles. Buy GPMGs. Buy RPG Launchers.
Buy LAVs – they are made in Nigeria. Buy Drones. Learn to use them. Resist ANY attempt to disarm you. Anybody who tries to disarm you wants you to be murdered.
Age is no excuse. Gender is no excuse. Religion is no excuse.
If you refuse, your death at the hands of Fulani Muslim Jihadist Terrorists will be your own fault. #TakeYourFitnessSeriously.”
Gbadamosi’s post comes amid continued concerns about insecurity and bandit attacks in parts of the country.
