The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has reopened the Youth Economic Intervention and De‑Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) portal, providing Nigerian youths the opportunity to apply for business grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants are Nigerian youths aged 18 to 35 with viable business ideas or existing small businesses. Prospective beneficiaries must have a National Identification Number (NIN) and a Bank Verification Number (BVN).
Selected participants will also undergo training and mentorship as part of the programme.
Programme Scope
YEIDEP targets sectors including agriculture, technology, fashion, renewable energy, and entertainment.
The initiative aims to stimulate entrepreneurship, reduce youth unemployment, and provide economic alternatives that can help curb radicalisation.
Application Process
The reopened portal allows for fresh registration under Batch B, following a postponement of disbursement for Batch A.
Applicants are advised to apply only through the official portal and ensure all personal and business information is accurately provided. Fraudulent schemes posing as YEIDEP have been reported, and youths are warned to avoid unofficial channels.
Government’s Intent
The government emphasizes that YEIDEP is not only an economic empowerment programme but also a strategy to engage young Nigerians positively, providing mentorship and support to turn small businesses into sustainable enterprises.
Key Advisory
* Applications are free; no fees should be paid.
* Ensure personal and bank details are accurate to avoid disqualification.
