The 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards concluded in grand style on Sunday at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State, celebrating the best in the Nigerian film industry. The star-studded event highlighted Nollywood’s vibrant talent, with Femi Adebayo’s historical epic, Jagun Jagun, emerging as the night’s biggest winner.

The film claimed six awards, including the prestigious Best Actor award for Femi Adebayo’s commanding performance as the titular character, cementing its status as a cinematic masterpiece.

Other significant winners included Unknown Soja, which earned Wunmi Dada the Best Actress award and Darasimi Nadi the Best Child Actress accolade. Momiwa was recognized for Best Screenplay and Best Editing, showcasing the depth of talent in Nollywood’s creative processes.

Veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo received a Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his decades-long contributions to the industry. The award was presented by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who pledged continued support for Nigerian filmmaking. The governor highlighted Kwara State’s potential as a filmmaking hub, announcing plans to host the production of two major films at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in 2025.

The BON Awards, founded by Seun Oloketuyi, continues to celebrate excellence in Nollywood, bringing global attention to Nigeria’s thriving film industry. The 2024 ceremony not only honored remarkable achievements but also emphasized the industry’s cultural and creative significance on the world stage.
