EFCC Dismissed Driver Faces Arrest After Appearing on Lege Miami’s Social Media Show

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raised alarm over the appearance of a dismissed staff, Mr. Olakunle Alex Folarin, on a matchmaking programme run by entertainer Lege Miami, stressing that his participation misrepresents the agency’s image.

In a statement issued through its official X handle on Monday, the EFCC explained that Folarin, who once worked as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed from service for presenting forged academic certificates during recruitment.

The anti-corruption agency expressed disappointment that despite his dismissal, Folarin retained official property, including an EFCC identity card. The Commission has now directed that he be arrested immediately.

According to the statement, “Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.”

It further quoted the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, as instructing law enforcement to apprehend Folarin for withholding Commission property unlawfully. The statement also cautioned the public not to associate the former staff’s conduct with the EFCC’s operations.

Frontpagenews.ng reports that the Commission reiterated its zero tolerance for corruption, even within its workforce, noting that disciplinary action would always be taken against staff who breach the code of conduct.
