The company revealed its plans during an event in Abuja celebrating its 20th anniversary, where key industry stakeholders, partners, and staff gathered to mark the milestone.
The company’s Executive Chairman, Stanley Jegede, emphasized that the expansion projects will leverage cutting-edge technology and high-performance network solutions to connect people, businesses, and networks across the sub-region, further extending Phase 3’s reach beyond West Africa to the global stage.
Reflecting on the company’s growth since its inception in 2003, Jegede highlighted Phase 3’s transformation from a small startup with fewer than ten employees into a diversified digital infrastructure powerhouse with an extensive network and robust global partnerships. Phase 3 is now recognized as Africa’s leading independent aerial fibre optic network infrastructure provider, licensed as a National Long-Distance Operator (NLDO) by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Throughout its 20-year journey, Phase 3 has completed over 400 projects, cementing its position as a prominent carrier’s carrier, providing multi-layer telecommunication services in Nigeria and beyond. Jegede reiterated the company’s commitment to innovation, values, and process excellence, ensuring global-standard service delivery for clients and stakeholders.
He announced that Phase 3 is embarking on strategic projects to expand its aerial and terrestrial fibre networks across Nigeria, with plans to enhance connectivity in sectors like finance, education, healthcare, agriculture, and commerce. The recent acquisition of a provisional Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) licence further underscores the company’s determination to deepen cross-sector integration and amplify opportunities through advanced technological infrastructure.
As Phase 3 steps into the next phase of its journey, Jegede stressed the importance of secure, scalable networks and next-generation services such as cloud, cyber security, and Over-the-Top (OTT) solutions in meeting the growing demand for high-performance digital content across the region.
The company’s forward-thinking approach and regional integration efforts are poised to significantly boost telecommunications infrastructure in West Africa, fostering innovation and driving economic growth.
