NatCom Development & Investment Ltd, operators of the Ntel 4G/VoLTE Network, has announced the appointment of Mr. Babatunde Omotoba as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, effective from May 7, 2019. Omotoba, who previously served as a high-performing non-executive director at Ntel for three years, succeeds Mr. Ernest Akinlola, who recently resigned.
Babatunde Omotoba brings over 30 years of diverse experience spanning telecoms, transportation, power, aviation, finance, private equity, and more. Prior to his appointment, he served as Group Chief Operating Officer of Ancestral Holdings, overseeing companies in telecoms, financial services, construction, transportation, and real estate. Omotoba has also led several high-impact projects, including the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria’s Airspace in the aviation sector.
In his illustrious career, Omotoba has been involved in structuring and investing over $200 million in projects with a total transaction size exceeding $1.2 billion. He has managed due diligence reviews, audits, fraud investigations, and financial consulting for large-scale projects, including the Nigerian Government Petroleum Trust Fund.
A civil engineer by training, Omotoba holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honours from the University of Benin and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Omotoba’s appointment signals a new chapter for Ntel, as the company continues its mission to strengthen Nigeria’s telecommunications landscape under his leadership.
