Google, in partnership with Muon Space, has launched its first FireSat satellite. This marks a significant step in wildfire detection. The satellite is designed to detect and track wildfires in near real-time, providing valuable data to emergency teams and scientists.

FireSat: A Game-Changer in Wildfire Detection

FireSat aims to create a global network of over 50 satellites. These satellites will monitor wildfire activity worldwide. The first satellite launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-13 mission. This mission carried multiple payloads into orbit.

How FireSat Works
