The National Chairman of the North East Commodity Association (NECAS), Alhaji Sadiq Daware, has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for renominating Mr. Godwin Emefiele as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola, Daware described Emefiele’s renomination as positive news for farmers nationwide.
Daware emphasized that farmers have greatly benefited from the agricultural programs introduced under Emefiele’s leadership, particularly through initiatives like the Anchor Borrowers Programme. He expressed optimism that the second tenure of Emefiele would bring continued support to the agricultural sector.
“The people of Nigeria, especially farmers, are pleased with President Buhari’s decision to forward the name of His Excellency, Godwin Emefiele, for a second five-year term,” said Daware. “This decision shows that hardworking and honest individuals, who care for the common man, will always have their way.”
Daware further highlighted Emefiele’s achievements in promoting agricultural diversification, enhancing value addition, and supporting year-round production. He expressed confidence that these accomplishments would be sustained and expanded during Emefiele’s second term.
“We at NECAS, one of the accredited commodity associations implementing the Anchor Borrowers Programme, are thrilled by this development and look forward to more positive outcomes in the future,” he added.
