According to the transport minister, the Lekki port project will give around 112,000 jobs to Nigerians.

According to Alhaji Muazu Sambo, the minister of transportation, 112,000 employment will be created when the Lekki deep-sea port project is finished.

Speaking in Jalingo, Taraba state, Sambo claimed that the port, Nigeria’s Premier Deep-Sea Port, would increase tonnage and generate more income for the state.

“It is important because the Port can accommodate the largest ships in the world,” he said. This translates into increased tonnage, cargo, port and national revenue, and economic activity.

Above all else, the construction of the Lekki deep-sea port would result in the creation of nearly 112,000 direct and indirect jobs.

“This is going to be the first few years and as time goes on and as activities expand, the number of the jobs will even multiply and that is what is good for us.’’
