Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the current political crisis will not break the people but will, instead, strengthen them. In a passionate statement, Fubara warned against forces attempting to destabilize the state, vowing to resist any efforts to deprive the people of their livelihoods.

A Defiant Message of Strength and Unity

Speaking from his private residence in Port Harcourt during an Eid-el-Fitr visit by Muslim leaders representing 20 Islamic groups, Fubara reassured his supporters that justice would ultimately prevail. He described the ongoing political battle as one of truth and righteousness, urging his followers to remain firm and united amidst the adversity they face.

“This is a season of love, sharing, and sacrifice,” he proclaimed. “You have come to share in our pain, and I know that everything happening now is leading us toward a greater purpose. No matter what, we will emerge stronger.”

Acknowledging the Crisis, Embracing Patience and Faith

Despite acknowledging the heavy toll of the political turmoil, Fubara hinted that supernatural forces might be influencing events beyond human understanding. He emphasized that his administration would remain committed to justice and egalitarianism, insisting that he would rather endure personal hardship than compromise on his core principles.

Drawing strength from religious history, he urged his supporters to practice patience, using an analogy from Noah’s Ark: “If God could wait for even the snail to enter Noah’s Ark, then patience remains a virtue in our struggle.”

A Strong Stand Against Political Saboteurs

Fubara also issued a stern warning to those plotting to create chaos in Rivers State, promising that his government would not allow political saboteurs to destabilize the region. “Their aim is to create instability and cripple livelihoods, but we will not let that happen,” he declared.

He reassured his followers that the government would continue to respect constituted authority, and vowed to ensure that Rivers State would remain a model of peace and good governance in Nigeria.

Support from Muslim Leaders and a Call for Action

On behalf of the delegation, Muslim leader Nasir Uhor expressed strong support for Fubara, praising his inclusive leadership and urging him to stay resolute in the face of adversity. Uhor also called on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the emergency rule in Rivers State and fully restore Fubara’s authority. Despite the ongoing crisis, Uhor emphasized that Fubara has continued to lead effectively.

A Defiant Resolve for Justice

As tensions continue to rise in Rivers State, Fubara’s bold declaration serves as a powerful message to his supporters and detractors alike. His vow to remain steadfast, alongside his commitment to justice, ensures that the political struggle in the state will not be easily swayed. Fubara’s leadership continues to inspire hope for many, promising a future where peace and justice will ultimately triumph.
