The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight David Adeleke, better known as Davido, as one of the major attractions for the opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In an official announcement released on Thursday, CAF confirmed that the star-studded concert will herald the start of the continent’s biggest football tournament, which is set to begin in Morocco on Saturday.
The opening show will take place in Rabat and is expected to draw a massive audience ahead of the first match of the competition.
Davido will headline the event alongside internationally acclaimed hip-hop artiste French Montana. They will be joined on stage by a diverse mix of performers, including Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and emerging act Says’z.
CAF said the carefully curated line-up reflects the rich cultural diversity and global reach of the Africa Cup of Nations.
